One of the most favorite appetizers, especially when eating burgers, the onion rings are our little guilty pleasure. With this homely but delicious recipe, it will not be so "guilty" anymore!

INGREDIENTS

For the mush
  • 3 tsp. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

For Onion Rings
  • 2 large onions, cut into thick rings
  • Sunflower oil for frying
  • Salt
  • Pepper
PREPARATION

1. To make the mush: Sift the flour and pour it into a bowl with a little salt. Make an space in the middle and pour the egg, olive oil and pepper. Stir well until the mixture is homogenous and become velvety. Let it rest for 1 hour.

2. Cut onions into rings, put into cool water and leave them for 30 minutes. Drain and dry well with paper towels.

3. Pour the sunflower oil in a deep pan and let it heat up well. Take just a few onions, dip in batter and then into the hot oil until they get a nice golden color (for fried perfectly and stayed crispy outside, do not squeeze into the pan). When ready, remove them and set aside for some minutes on paper towels. Served warm.
