BEACHES

Perhaps the most important of the tourist asset of Mykonos, that distinguish it from other islands are the beaches. Here are without doubt the most - and best - to be found . Particularly in the South, the picturesque coves with sandy beaches follow one another. Those beaches, can be reached by car or motorbike, since the radial roads of the island starting from the Mykonos town stretches nearly to each corner. Precisely because of that particular road network in the island, many Southern beaches are linked with each other with a boat operating on a regular service, all day all summer, which offers the visitor a very interesting excursion opportunity. Starting someone from Mykonos town (at the port of which there is a small beach that many holidaymakers and city residents prefer, because of convenience) and directed to the south, will meet with the series follows the popular beaches:

Elia

It is also a beautiful, large and popular beach. Last "stop" of boat transfers, transportation launches from Platis Gialos. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island with white sand, easy access and a good word to describe it would be «Gay friendly».

'Super Paradise' (Plintri)

Psarou

A fashionable and organized beach with water sports (diving school, etc.) One of the most beautiful beaches on the island with golden sand and emerald waters, which met its great glory in the decade of the'80s, and in recent years collecting virtually all of vip of the island.

Platis Gialos

It is perhaps the most overpopulated beach on the island. Sheltered by hotels and organised, with umbrellas and sunbeds, addressed to tourists, but is an ideal solution for mothers with children. It has beautiful beaches, hotels, restaurants and very regular intercourse. The starting point of maritime association with the southern beaches: Paranga, Kalamopodi, Plintri, Agrari, Elia.

Agios Sostis

Large, sandy beach - one of the nicest in Mykonos-north of the island. At the beach, you will not find umbrellas and deck chairs or beach bars. Before it become so popular it was the mainly occupied by nudists. The beach is also pet-friendly. To eat, the old tavern, Kiki works only lunchtimes, without reservations, as there is no telephone, offers roasted and grilled dishes, and has no electricity.

Panormos

It can be reached only with private vehicle. Some days is not that crowded, and preferred by the locals. These unique beaches, are suitable for swimming, located in the northern part of the island, with a fascinating view over the bay. This characteristic gives all the conditions to enjoy your surfing there. The beaches located 4.5 km From Mykonos town and the road network is in excellent condition.

Kalo Livadi

It is also a beautiful, a very popular beach in the southern part of the island.

It is located between Elia and Kalafatis and is one of the biggest beaches in length and in width. The music plays loud from the nearby restaurants .Also features a beach-service for the pleasure of swim and relaxing holiday.

How to get there

The beach can be reached either on a left turn on the road to Kalafati either after the Ano Mera football field. Both roads are with asphalt, and in very good condition.
